The Byron Bay Concerts
welcome to byron bay
this is not exactly a typical street scene, but it’s not far off.
these tibetan monks were performing a ceremony next door to the theatre

they spent days creating this incredible sand mandala, only to cast it to the ocean on completion, symbolically illustrating the impermanence of life

we played 2 nights and enjoyed the impermanence of being in byron bay.
the byron audiences sing so beautifully.
we received some beautiful messages and thought to share a few with you

“...Thank you both so much for the magic you share. We saw you last year and a few years ago, and you are simply getting better and better, your heart shines through and it reaches our heart, the beauty and light are undeniable, and inspiring...”
an old friend from the uk, ravi, joined us on stage.
ravi is an accomplished overtone singer in the tradition of the throat singers of tuva
you can find more about him at his website here

“...once again I thank you for your music, your love, devotion, and the wonderful space you create. I fell asleep with the mantras and kept on hearing them all through the night. I slept into my birthday with the energy of the mantras, filled with love and feeling so loved. Thank you, thank you, thank you...”

”...My wife dragged me along to your concert at Byron Bay on Sat the 30 Jan. I went kicking and screaming, but came out completely won over and enchanted. See you next year...”

here’s ravi again, joining us for ilumina on his main instrument, the west african harp, known as a ‘kora’

“...Thank you for the experience of such a sacred evening on Friday night. It was life-changing for me. I have long listened to your music as well as seen you at 'Journey' workshops. However nothing prepared me for your gift and offering on Friday night. I look forward to experiencing 'concerts' in the future as well as participating in your workshops...”
our sweetheart, jalalo, joined us for a few pieces – seen here in b/w
she’s a great singer in her own right and is well known in the area for her singing and harmony workshops

the beautiful ‘nataraj’ was donated for the concert by baba and mohan, from shikara design
